Release Notes August 11, 2021

Private reports

You can now save a report as “private report”. This means, that only the person that created the report is able to see the report in the interface. However, a private report can also be shared using the report sharing function.

Subcategories in reports

So far it was possible to save reports in categories. To keep a better overview, you can now also create subcategories and store reports in these subcategories.

Deleting values on sessions, page views and users

You can now delete values that are stored on either sessions, page views or users. Caution: This process cannot be undone! If you want to delete values on events, simply use the delete function on every event.

Beta

Overlay mode button in reporting and properties area

Both areas, reporting and properties, have received a new button “overlay mode”. This is a new features that is currently in open beta. Clicking this button opens your website and the fusedeck UI next to it.

This new tool provides a lot of useful functions:

Overlay report

The overlay report shows basic information about that specific web page, directly on the respective page. Besides standard data like users, sessions and page views, you can also see active, idle and inactive dwell times.

If custom events are available on that specific page, you will also see these events in the overlay report. This could be clicks on specific elements, video plays, text or image visibilities, scrolls etc. A color scheme shows you the efficiency for each element.

Selector grabber

Sometimes it is really tricky to find the best possible selector to track a specific element. In the overlay mode you will also find a selector grabber that helps you to find and copy the best possible selector. Just activate the grabber, click a specifc element and the selector will show up. Simply copy the selector and add it to a tracking event.

Event timeline

In the overlay mode you will also find an event timeline that displays each event that has fired on a timeline. This is ideal to check if the event fire in the right order and if the events contain the right values.

This new overlay mode comes with more features. Keep in mind, this is still in beta and we will add tons of more functions to it!
