Engagement tracking

Much more than just standard events

It goes without saying that you can use fusedeck® to measure all standard events such as users, sessions, page views, leads, sales, etc. But fusedeck® offers much more besides these standard events. Based on active user engagements, you can analyze how your content is consumed, what content is important for conveying information to the user as well as for conversion and should therefore be placed more prominently, and what content may perhaps have been given too much prominence. Use these insights to make your website more attractive to your potential customers and generate more conversion from organic and paid traffic.

Engagement time

Unlike other tracking solutions, fusedeck® distinguishes between three types of dwell times. The “Active” status shows how long a user actively interacts with the website content. The “Idle” status measures how long the user stays on the website without interacting with it. And the “Inactive” status measures how long the website is open in an inactive tab or how long another window displays the website content in the background. These measurements result in highly precise dwell times and provide new insights that can be used to optimize the website and its content. After all, on average a user is only really active for around 20% to 40% of the time measured.

Visibility of elements

Measure how long specific elements on the website are actively seen by visitors. For example, you can measure images, headings, buttons, and text passages, as well as any other HTML element. Define by how many percent an element has to be visible before it is deemed visible. Users who only scroll past the element aren’t counted. This allows you to understand which content the users are interested in and where the users stop scrolling and actively consume the content.

Scrolls

fusedeck® measures scroll values by default. Find out how far users scroll down on certain pages, what the average maximum scrolling depth is, and where the average exit scrolling depth is for each page. As a result, you can determine whether there are key content areas that are hardly reached by users or whether users no longer continue scrolling after certain content. You can also accurately measure whether and when users scroll back to the top of the page.

Hovers

A clear report shows you which elements users hover over and whether there are key elements that users aren’t hovering over. The hover-to-click rate shows you where users have initial interest but have hesitated to click. To prevent accidental hovers from being measured, for instance if a user randomly hovers over an element while scrolling, a threshold in milliseconds can be set for hover events. This ensures that only deliberate hovers are included in the analysis.

Clicks

Use fusedeck® to measure which elements on a website are clicked and how often this occurs. You don’t need to configure each element individually; you can measure all clicks with a single event. These insights help you to place the most important calls-to-action effectively and thereby increase the conversion rate.

Videos

Videos are a compelling way to convey emotions or messages easily. But they’re also expensive to produce. Do the users even care about your videos? Find out which videos are actively consumed and how long the users actively watch the videos. You can determine whether there are certain sections where users lose interest and use these insights to place the videos at the right place on the website or improve your production quality. Then you can decide whether video productions are a worthwhile investment for you or whether this budget is best allocated to other content. fusedeck® allows you to measure not only YouTube videos but also Vimeo and HTML5 clips.

Forms

Interactions with forms are a valuable type of user engagement. But it’s often the case that users aren’t willing to complete all the fields. fusedeck® shows you which form fields users skip over or whether form validation is needlessly complicated, occasionally preventing users from submitting the form. Use this data to improve the user experience and obtain higher lead rates and conversion rates.

We would be happy to show you how you can use fusedeck® for your business.
